On 05/04/2023 at 6:20 am, Campus Safety and Security received a phone call from the 911 Dispatch Center informing us that there was a report of someone hunting in the wooded area near Coffeen Street area with a bow. Watertown Police responded and spoke with an individual who stated he thought it was public land. Watertown Police are handling the case and the individual has been informed that it is illegal to have weapons on educational institution grounds and that it is illegal to hunt within city limits.

Reported Offense:
A Jefferson Community College student reported a sexual assault that occurred on Thursday,
September 5, 2019 in East Hall. The suspect, a Jefferson Community College male student,
is known to the reporting party.
College officials know the identities of all parties and the incident is being investigated by the City of Watertown Police Department. In addition, College officials are proceeding with action in accordance with College policies.

Report Concern:
Early Wednesday afternoon, the office of Campus Safety & Security received a call
from an off-campus community member indicating the possible presence of firearms on
campus, specifically in East Hall. After determining there was no imminent threat,
security officials contacted the City of Watertown Police Department who conducted
a thorough investigation which resulted in the confiscation of a BB Gun. No charges
were filed by the police department.
College officials know the identities of all parties and are proceeding with action in accordance with College policies.
We would like to thank the reporting party for the information and reinforce that the safety of all members of the campus community is top priority.
