Student Activities & Inclusion
Mission Statement
Student Activities and Inclusion provides extracurricular activities which encourages student involvement, community engagement, and leadership development. We are committed to providing programming that contributes to the learning and growth of all students.
Student Engagement
Academics are important but so is having fun, meeting people, and doing new things. We have so much to offer our students - whether you live off or on campus. Our student activities staff is here to bring lively events to campus, spark meaningful dialogue with students, and make sure we have an inclusive campus that celebrates diversity.
All semester long there are fun events and ways to get involved.
Clubs
Looking for a great club to join…….We got it! We have a wide variety of clubs and organizations to join.
Fun Events
Looking for cool events on campus……We rock! We offer a variety of on campus entertainment and activities. Check the calendar for the next event.
Get Involved
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) at Jefferson Community College is a student-run organization that provides a variety of quality entertainment and leadership opportunities for all students, allowing them to get involved on campus in a unique way. CAB provides students with experiences in planning, publicizing, budgeting and implementing programs that help them develop lifelong skills to complement their academic experiences at JCC.
CAB’s events not only help students relax and enjoy their time on campus - they also often provide students with a much-needed break from studying.

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), is an organization that helps people discover and achieve their goals. The Society offers life-changing lectures from the nation's leading presenters and a community where like-minded, success-oriented individuals come together and help one another succeed.
Why should you get involved?
Membership is for life and provides access to benefits including scholarships and awards, exclusive on-campus events, employer recruitment through an online job bank, and discounts on computers, textbooks, grad school prep courses, insurance and much more. The Society encourages the opportunity for student networking and building your leadership skills.

Jefferson’s Tau Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is a prestigious international honor society which seeks to recognize academic excellence in two-year colleges. Scholarships, leadership, service and fellowship are the hallmarks of PTK. Providing opportunities for an intellectual climate for the interchange of ideas, for a fellowship for scholars and for the importance in continuing academic excellence.
Eligibility
Membership for PTK is by invitation only and will be extended based on the following:
- Enrollment in a degree program
- Completed twelve credit hours of college level course work
- Cumulative grade point average of a minimum 3.50
- Eligibility is also contingent upon enrollment at JCC during the invited semester and completion of the orientation and application process by the stated deadlines.
Benefits of Membership
The benefits of becoming a PTK member are numerous and include:
- Over $36 million in transfer scholarships available to PTK students
- Privilege of wearing Honors Stole at graduation ceremony
- “Phi Theta Kappa Member” printed on JCC transcripts
Types of Membership
There are two types of membership options for students: Regular or Enhanced.
Enhanced membership encourages participation in JCC’s Tau Xi Chapter activities. The
chapter meets regularly to promote membership, encourage scholarship, advocate leadership,
engage in fellowship and provide service to the community.
As a PTK member you may decide not to participate in chapter activities; recognizing
that many of our members are busy with jobs, school and families and for them, a regular
membership is the appropriate option.

Student Government is a unified body of dedicated students who work together to address the needs and concerns of JCC students to better serve both the students and campus community. We assist in the management of student fees and serve as the student body’s liaison to campus committees and JCC administration.
We are comprised of the Executive Board, the Student Assembly and committees which provides open forums for student voices and where we respond with innovative ideas that reflect the concerns of the campus community.
Why should you get involved?
Participation in Student Government is an effective way to share concerns and ideas and to learn about the various student activities that help support student learning outside the classroom. We hold ourselves to the highest standards and are committed to establishing the benchmark for future student leadership.
